**UPDATE – Arrest Made**
On April 3, 2020, Vanessa “Honey” Malone’s mom, Flora Malone, reached out to us to let us know that an arrest has been made in her daughter’s 2012 murder.
Malone’s picture and a “Cold Case Spotlight” have been on our site since 2015. Her mom, Flora, also contributed to our book, Grief Diaries: Project Cold Case, published in 2016. Flora has been a driving force in making sure her daughter’s case remained in the public eye, including a Facebook page with over 137,000 likes. Flora’s commitment inspires thousands of families of unsolved cases to keep fighting.
According to news reports, 34-year-old Donald Ash was arrested was charged with second-degree murder and, concealing facts and false statements.
Original Cold Case Spotlight – October 11, 2015
On October 23, 2012, 18-year-old, Vanessa “Honey” Malone walked into an apartment in Stone Mountain, Georgia and interrupted a home invasion robbery.
While the three other occupants of the apartment were bound and robbed, Honey was shot multiple times and killed.
Witnesses stated that there were three to six attackers, dressed in black and armed with handguns and shotguns.
The murder of Honey Malone has devastated her family and friends. Their Facebook Memorial Page, R.I.P. Honey, has almost 130,000 likes. Let’s share her story and find answers and justice for Honey and her loved ones before another anniversary comes.
Honey’s family has increased the reward to $50,000, but only until the 3rd anniversary of her death, October 23, 2015.
