On November 1, 1972, William Edward Huff, 14, and James Allen Crosby, 16, were dropped off at school by their mothers, but they never ended up attending class that day. The boys were considered missing person(s). After 13 months of no leads the case was marked as closed. On April 21, 1984, two men were walking game trails near the Lowcounty Regional Airport in Walterboro, South Carolina when they discovered a boot and pants that contained human bones. Police arrived on scene and through the clothing that was found the bones were determined to belong to William Huff and James Crosby. The children's skulls were never found. Their case remains an unsolved double homicide and their families continue to advocate for them to this day.
