Velma Ford, 65, was operating Majik Market, located on 6480 Gordon Road in Mableton. That night on April 19th, 1974, two men entered the convenience store around 3am, taking Velma's life with a gunshot wound to the head. Though the men left without the money located in Velma's pocket, detectives believe the motive was robbery. The two men were arrested, but ultimately the chargers were dropped. Velma's case remains unsolved as her family continues to seek justice in her case.
