Troy Dean Friend Jr., 31, was critically injured during a house party on the 3400 block of Penn Avenue N in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, officers responded to a report of a stabbing and located Troy with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. According to the Minneapolis Police Department, preliminary information indicates that an altercation inside the home escalated and resulted in the stabbing. An arrest was made in connection with the case; however, the state ultimately declined to prosecute. Troy's family continues seeking justice while advocating for him.
