On September 11, 2007, Samuel "Sam" Cook, 36, was shot several times while at his residence in Lufkin, Texas. Later, a person noticed a male lying in a ditch on Sundale Road with one arm stretched upward. Law enforcement reported that Sam had wandered outside and walked approximately 500 yards from his residence and eventually succumbed to his wounds. Sam's family family continues to advocate for their loved one and seek answers in his case.
