***UPDATE*** On March 4, 2026, nearly four years after the shooting, police said they made an arrest. Police identified Carlos Rivera, 21, as the suspect. He would have been 17 years old at the time. Rivera was charged with criminal homicide.
"Through continued investigative efforts and the dedication of our detectives, the case has now been solved," the York City Police Department said.
On May 6, 2022, Roman Padilla, 24, was shot and killed in a vehicle. The vehicle crashed on the front lawn in the 800 block of South Pine Street in York, PA. His murder has been unsolved since 2022, and Roman's family continues to work with law enforcement while seeking justice for him.
