On April 27, 2000, Reed "Roosevelt" Byrd, 20, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in a vehicle at the Coney Island Restaurant near Mack and Connors Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. Reed was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Two individuals were arrested but were later acquitted. Reed's family continues to advocate for their loved one and seek answers in his case.
