Case Description

On December 10, 2003, eighteen-year-old Nicholas David Tonic was reported missing by his mother. During that same day, Mr. Tonic’s vehicle was recovered abandoned in the 8100 block of Fruitful Court, Millersville, Maryland. The interior of the vehicle displayed evidence of a violent crime. Mr. Tonic had last been seen at his residence on December 5, 2003, in the 1700 block of Sea Pine Circle, Severn, Maryland. On January 23, 2004, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a body was discovered on the side of the road in the 7500 block of Teague Road, Hanover, Maryland. Through dental records, the recovered remains were identified as Mr. Tonic. Mr. Tonic suffered trauma to the upper body, the manner being homicide.
