On September 23, 2015, Neal Bratcher Jr., 48, was shot while standing on a sidewalk in the 9200 block of South University in Chicago’s Burnside neighborhood. At approximately 11:10 p.m., someone approached Neal and opened fire, striking him in the chest, leg, and face, according to authorities. Neal was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 12:06 a.m. on September 24, 2015.
