Case Description
Nancy Hartley, 47, was working as a clerk at the Pasco Self Service Gas Station at 3226 W. Roosevelt in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 12, 1975, when she was shot during an armed robbery. According to case information released by Silent Witness, the shooting happened at about 5:30 p.m. and involved two Black male suspects believed to be between 15 and 16 years old. Hartley was found by customers suffering from a gunshot wound, and reports indicate her ankles had been bound. She was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries hours later. Her homicide remains unsolved and is still recognized as one of Phoenix’s oldest active cold case investigations.
