Case Description
On Saturday, October 13, 2018, officers responded to a missing person report in the 8000 block of Green Orchard Road, Glen Burnie, Maryland. Investigation revealed Melanie Faith Meleney was possibly last seen on the morning of Friday, October 12, 2018. On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, a citizen walking their dog located human remains along the shoreline in the 1400 block of Furnace Avenue, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The Anne Arundel County Police Crime Forensic Services Section conducted DNA testing comparing a known standard from Ms. Meleney to the recovered remains. The DNA testing confirmed the recovered remains were those of Melanie Meleney.
