Case Description
On September 4, 2002, 79-year-old Mary Drake was found deceased inside the Dolly Madison Bakery, located at 1004 Harrison Street in Great Bend, Kansas. A store employee was also found deceased inside the business. Authorities determined that both individuals had been victims of homicide. The circumstances surrounding the killings left the Great Bend community searching for answers and raised questions about who was responsible and what led to the deadly violence inside the bakery. Despite the passage of time, Mary’s death remains a devastating loss for those who knew and loved her. More than two decades later, Mary deserves to be remembered, and her loved ones deserve answers about what happened to her and accountability for the person or persons responsible.
