Case Description
Detective Lonnie Miller Sr., died instantly on May 6th, 1995 when he was shot once in the chest while responding to a silent burglar alarm at First Coast Motors in Jacksonville, Florida. According to detectives at the time, Miller and the owner were talking outside of the business and may have interrupted a burglary in progress. The business owner was wounded but provided a witness statement. Detective Miller was the 40th police officer to die in the line of duty.
