On December 25, 2021, at approximately 10:45 pm, the dead body of Jose Ramon Diaz, 37, was discovered by a family member inside his residence in the 3800 block of Highline Oaks West in Conroe, Texas. An autopsy revealed Jose had a gunshot wound to the torso and had several bruises consistent with being in a struggle. Jose also had a Black zip tie around his wrist. The home appeared to have been burglarized, and power to the house was turned off at the exterior breaker box. Jose’s vehicle, keys, and cell phone were taken from the scene and dumped at a nearby body of water. Jose was lovingly known by his family and friends as "Nene" or "JR".
