***UPDATE*** - On November 2, 2025, Tyrese Carter was sentenced to 5 years of probation for tampering with evidence in this case.

On September 10th, 2021, Jeremiah Mobley was shot at Young's Park in Lake City, Florida. After being shot, he sought the assistance of a Florida Highway Patrol officer who was nearby before collapsing from his injuries. A Lake City Police officer was also nearby and had heard the shot and responded. Jeremiah later succumbed to his injuries from the shooting.
