Case Description

On August 3, 2002, 35-year-old Jennifer Goodlett was fatally shot in Louisville, Kentucky. Jennifer lived on Estate Drive, only a few blocks from Gutermuth Elementary School, and had not been seen by her loved ones since that weekend. Four days later, at approximately 3 p.m. on August 7, a woman walking her dog discovered Jennifer’s body in bushes behind the school’s playground. The woman immediately alerted school employees, who contacted police. Investigators secured the school grounds and searched the surrounding area for evidence. Because Jennifer’s body was badly decomposed, a forensic dentist identified her through extensive dental work. Jewelry found with her also matched descriptions provided by her family. The person responsible for Jennifer’s death has not been identified, and her homicide remains unsolved.

Anyone with information concerning Jennifer Goodlett’s unsolved homicide are asked to call the Louisville Metro Police Department at (502) 574-7060. To remain anonymous and possibly eligible for a reward, call Kentuckiana Crime Stoppers at (502) 582-CLUE (2583).
