James Sims Jr. was shot on January 5, 2007, during an apartment home invasion. At about 1 a.m. The Raines Station police were called to the scene, where they found James, 28. He also went by "Baby Bubba." Memphis Fire Department paramedics rushed James to a medical center, where he later died. According to a preliminary investigation, family members in the apartment awoke to the sound of gunshots and found Sims wounded.
