Jacob Lemire, lovingly called "Jake" and known to be kind-hearted and friendly was the victim of gun violence, he and a friend were both shot in the back. The homicide occurred on October 1, 2020, 21 year old Jake died shortly after being shot at 8PM in a car on Douglas Avenue and Orms Street in Providence Rhode Island. Detectives believed a car pulled up and opened fire on the vehicle as the two young men were on their way to get something to eat.
