On July 7, 1970, Glennis Sorenson (Johnson) was found dead on the eastbound lane on University Avenue, 175 feet from the crosswalk, shortly before midnight. Investigators first believed it was a hit-and-run incident, but they stated her injuries were unusual for a pedestrian traffic victim. She suffered a neck fracture, a pelvis fracture, and (unusual) fractures above both ankles. There were no impact marks. She was discovered by two females in a vehicle heading east on University. One resident of the area reported hearing a loud noise at the time of the incident. Police asked for any assistance or clues from any witnesses in the case.
