Everest J. Douglas, also known as “JD” or “Ev,” was 32 years old when he was shot in Rochester, New York. On the evening of July 6, 2009, Everest was at home with his young daughters when he reportedly received a phone call and left to meet someone. At approximately 10:30 p.m., he was found shot in the head near 120 Superior Street. Everest was transported for medical treatment but died from his injuries the following day, July 7, 2009. No suspects were immediately charged in connection with Everest’s death. For close to 20 years, Everest's family has continued seeking justice, while advocating for him.
