Case Description
On September 7, 1984, Esther Valdez, 17, was last seen after school in Chama, New Mexico. She and her best friend picked up their paychecks from the Branding Iron restaurant, where they worked as dishwashers. After, they visited the grave of Esther's baby sister, who had died several years earlier. A few hours later, Esther reportedly went to her best friend's house, accompanied by an older man. They invited the friend to go camping, but she refused and told Esther not to go either. Esther and her male friend left in the man's Bronco. Esther's family continues to advocate for their loved one and seek answers in her case.
