On Wednesday, October 31st, 2020, Halloween night Ernest Thompson was killed in his car at a Publix in Atlanta, Georgia. Ernest, his brother, and a close friend stopped at a Publix to use the ATM. When the ATM did not work, they traveled to another Publix located at 950 W Peachtree St NW. According to reports, The shooter reportedly confronted him outside of the Publix in Midtown on Peachtree Place. A bullet struck him in the torso as he sat in the passenger seat.
