Case Description

On November 15, 1980, around 4 AM, John Dooling was awakened by a noise in his driveway. He went downstairs to look and found his daughter Ellen Dooling, 18, and a man she had just come home from a date with named Gary Consolino, 20, dead inside of Gary's car appearing to have been shot. An investigation was opened and there was no sign of robbery, assault, or struggle, just two young lives taken in an attack that seemed to have no motive. Ellen and Gary's case remain unsolved, and their families continue to advocate and seek answers.

Anyone with information concerning Ellen Dooling and Gary Consolino’s unsolved homicides is asked to call the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Division at (314) 444-5371. To remain anonymous and possibly eligible for a reward, call Crime Stoppers at (866) 371-8477.
