Edith Cagle was found dead in her own home at the bottom of her basement in Middletown, Ohio on January 7, 1996. Foul play was later suspected as Edith's injuries were not consistent with that of a fatal fall down the stairs. It is believed by both Middletown, Ohio law enforcement and members of Edith's family that the suspect was someone known to Edith.
