Investigators report that on January 2, 2019, three men approached the driveway of a residence on Shoemaker Street in Jackson, Georgia, and forced their way inside. Once in the home, the intruders held the occupants at gunpoint and ordered them to the floor. During the confrontation, 40-year-old Derek Denson was shot and later died from his injuries. Other individuals were also present when the incident occurred. Derek’s family continues to grieve his loss and hopes that renewed attention to his case will lead to answers, accountability, and long-awaited justice.

The Sheriff's Office is offering a $30,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information concerning Derek Denson’s unsolved homicide is asked to call Lt.
