Derecus Conerly was 21 years old when he was reported missing by his family on June 26, 2021. He had last been seen the night before, on June 25, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m. At the time, Derecus was wearing black shorts and a gray T-shirt and was driving a white Kia Optima with the license plate QUI95. Tragically, on June 28, 2021, Derecus’ body was discovered in Summit, Mississippi. He had suffered a gunshot wound, and his body had been severely burned. His death remains a devastating loss for his family and loved ones. Since Derecus’ murder, his family has continued to seek answers and justice. They remain committed to working with law enforcement in the hope that those responsible will be identified and held accountable.
