Case Description
Dalton Smith was shot just after 11PM in a bar at April's Country Club in Kettering, Ohio on August 8, 1974. He died from his injuries shortly after midnight. Witnesses reported that Dalton briefly commented to a man before that person pulled a gun and shot him before fleeing out the back door of the bar, located at 3942 S. Kettering Blvd. A detective at the time reported there appeared to be no motive that led to the shooting. Dalton's wife, Kathleen offered her savings at the time to generate a "reward" in hopes of judicial resolution in this senseless crime. Dalton's family has been awaiting answers in this unsolved case for almost 40 years.
