Case Description
Ciriaco "Jerry" Colella was found stabbed to death in his apartment at 526 West 122nd Street in New York City on January 7th,1997. Jerry was a professor at Columbia University and from a large Italian family. Jerry's death was believed to be the first in a series of gay men to be murdered in that area. Law enforcement believed that he was found a couple of days after the homicide occurred. Jerry was well connected in his neighborhood and was known to befriend transients and vagrants in his neighborhood.
