**Update** - Brian Swanson, 48, was arrested on March 28, 2025, for the murder of Charles "Chico" Ballard.

On February 9, 2000, 22-year-old Charles "Chico" Ballard was found deceased in his home located in the 300 block of E. 17th Ave. Responding officers discovered that Chico was suffering from several gunshot wounds, and his body had been burned.
