***UPDATE*** - On September 12, 2025, Unified Police announced the arrest of Casteil "Slim" Franlink Hamlett in the 2016 shooting death of Chandler Cooper.
On Feb. 11, 2016, hikers contacted the Unified Police Department regarding a deceased person found near the Great Saltair in Magna. When an officer arrived, she discovered a deceased male in his 20s with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his chest.
