Case Description
On September 17, 1980, Carla Atkins, 14 and her half-sister Vickie Stout, 16, went to a store called "The Furnace" in Dover, Tennessee. Witnesses say they saw the girls talking to someone in a blue pickup truck, and the truck circled the highway by that store. On October 5, 1980, hikers smelled an odor in an area called Land Between the Lakes. The sheriff's office found the teens about 75 feet apart and believe someone attempted to cover their bodies. Their death were ruled a homicide. Carla and Vickie's family continues to advocate for their loved ones and seek answers in their case.
