Case Description
Alva Parris, 9, disappeared on June 10, 1960, while walking to a relative’s home located only a few blocks away. She never arrived at the residence and was reported missing. Five days later, Alva’s body was discovered in a shallow grave in Essex, near an abandoned home located at 1800 Eastern Avenue in Baltimore, MD. Her body had been covered with lye, which appeared to have been used in an attempt to conceal evidence or hinder identification. Alva’s death was investigated as a homicide. Her case remains unsolved and her family continues to advocate for justice.
