On March 20, 2010 at 5:45pm, 16-year old Tiphne Hollis was shot and killed at the intersection of Calvin Street and Belfort Street on the westside of Jacksonville, Florida.
According to a story written on the Tiphne Hollis Foundation website; Tiphne and 4 other young women were lost in an unfamiliar neighborhood when someone opened fire on their car.
Despite organized walks, on the 20th of each month, through the neighborhood where Tiphne was killed, no one has come forward with information on the shooter(s).
Tiphne’s family and friends have fought for justice and to make sure Tiphne is never forgotten. They began a foundation, a Christian learning academy, host an annual fashion show, toy drives and organize monthly walks. All in hopes of bringing attention to Tiphne’s unsolved murder and to honor her memory.
