On May 28, 1988, 7-year-old Michelle Norris went to play with family at the Capt. G. Harold Hunt School playground in Central Falls, Rhode Island.
Michelle disappeared without anyone witnessing the abduction.
Family, friends, neighbors, and law enforcement launched an intensive search for the young girl. A few days later, Michelle’s body was discovered on the side of a hill in a wooded area behind a dance hall on Brook Street, less than a half mile from where she vanished.
Michelle’s clothes were lying next to her badly bruised body. She had been raped, beaten and suffocated. Despite detectives indicating that they had some initial solid leads the case remains unsolved.
The abduction, rape, and murder of Michelle Norris has left her family searching for answers and justice for almost 29 years.
