Andre Johnson had been missing for a week in June 2005 when his mother received the call every parent fears.

The body of her 28 year old son had been found in the Ribault River in Jacksonville, Florida. Andre had suffered blunt force trauma to the head and been the victim of, a still unsolved, murder.

Sometimes pain becomes passion and loss leads to direction. Andre’s mom, Beverly McClain, founded Families of Slain Children in Jacksonville, Florida in 2006 to support, comfort and counsel others that had lost a loved one to violence.

Ms. Beverly has used her tragedy to help countless other families in the community. It is the hope of Project: Cold Case that the community will return the favor and share Andre’s story.
