In the early morning hours of September 22, 2009, Tammy Platt was shot and killed while riding in a car driven by a friend in Jacksonville, Florida.
Authorities arrested a man in possession of the gun used to kill Tammy soon after. That man was charged in a different crime but there was not enough evidence to charge him in Tammy’s death.
This tragedy was not the first to touch the lives of Tammy’s family. Her brother was murdered 6 years earlier (an arrest was quickly made in his case).
Tammy’s family has struggled to get answers regarding her murder.
Was this a random shooting?
Was the car targeted?
Will anyone ever be held accountable?
That is where the public can help. It is believed that the man arrested possessing the gun used to shoot Tammy is her killer but authorities need witnesses to come forward to prove it.
