On July 28, 1991, Patricia Villarreal, 19, and her sister were standing in a parking lot of a Lucky Supermarket on Lakeshore Avenue in Oakland, California. Around 1:15 A.M. a man approached them and attacked them. Both Patricia and her sister were stabbed several times. Patricia was taken to Highland Hospital and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Patricia's sister survived. A person was charged in the homicide but charges were eventually dropped. Patricia's family continues to advocate for their loved one and seek answers in her case.
