Case Description
On Christmas Day in 1991, Melissa Kessinger, 23, left her father's house around 5:45 am to return home. She was then spotted by a witness at the intersection of West Michigan Street and White River Parkway around 6:45 AM that same day. The next time Melissa was seen was by a passerby who was on his way to an afternoon service at the local church. Melissa was deceased, lying against a tree in Military Park. The coroner's report shows that Melissa's death was caused by blunt force injuries consistent with being struck by a car. Her death was then determined to be a homicide. Melissa's case still remains unsolved. Her family continues to advocate and seek answers in her case.
