Case Description
In the early morning hours of February 12, 2004, Joy Patricia Hayward, 28, was staying at the Days Inn on Edgmont Avenue in Chester when her life was taken. Reports indicate Joy checked into the hotel alone at approximately 1:38 a.m. Afterward, she was seen in the lobby and later entered the elevator with an unidentified man. Investigators have stated that Joy called the front desk and reported that she had a problem, but no one went up to her room. Joy was discovered the following day in the bathtub in her room. Authorities have said DNA evidence was recovered, but the person responsible has not been identified, and the case remains unsolved.
